Nomadic cultures depend on hospitality for survival. The Bible takes it a step further, identifying hospitality as a sacred obligation. Not only must we rely on God even more during times of flux and movement, but we also must rely on others. Nomadic seasons teach us how to reach out to our neighbors for mutual support, to take care of others on a journey, to receive hospitality from others, to assume trustworthiness, and to have a posture of open arms.
