Revive UMC Azle Announcements
Here’s what’s happening in our church and our community.
See you Sunday!
Service of Healing and Wholeness Dec 28: As we move from 2025 to 2026, this is an opportunity to give your burdens to God, receive healing for sickness and pain, and once more start new by God’s grace.
Our staff is growing! Revive is thrilled to welcome Rita Parker on as Interim Children’s Ministry Director. We thank our Director of Youth Ministries, Kelsi Bernsen, for going above and beyond her job description by organizing children’s programming as she was able. Moving forward, Kelsi continues on as Director of Youth Ministries as well as having responsibilities with social media. Read more about Rita below and be sure to welcome her!
Rita Parker brings a broad background well suited for fostering growth in our children's ministry program. With over a decade of experience as a public school teacher and diverse leadership roles-including former Children's Ministry and Preschool Director-Rita is equipped to help lead our ministry forward. She is passionate about cultivating children’s relationships with God and nurturing our programs for the betterment of our church and community. Rita is ecstatic to see what God has in store for the children of Revive! In addition to her part time work at Revive, Rita teaches Kindergarten at Paradise Elementary School. She is married to Justin and they have one son, Sammy.
GIVING UPDATE
Give Toward Our Matching Grant - $7,923.00 Needed to Reach Our Goal! For every dollar that Revive takes in toward our general operations and ministries in 2025 up to $180,000, the Annual Conference will match it 50%. We have taken in $172,077 toward our general budget so far this year. That means we’re only $7,923 from reaching our goal.
If you have already given what extra you are able toward this, THANK YOU! Every dollar you have given will be spent to grow our church in 2026.
If you are able to give an end of year gift, please give here or in the offering plate on Sunday before the new year. Let’s hit the ground running in 2026! Revive is on the move.
Upcoming Activities
Multiplication Masterclass Webinar: Bridge Events - January 11, 2026, virtual. Help us grow Revive in 2026 by making new connections with our neighbors! Author Ken Willard defines a bridge event as “a local church intentionally hosting events as a way to cross the bridge from their church building into the mission field around them in order to invite people to come and engage with their ministry.” Ken will talk about some basics of a bridge event and walk through how to plan one for your community. https://htcumc.jotform.com/253244158815156
Winter Camp 2026 - February 20-22: 6th-12th graders, save the date for Winter Camp 2026 at Glen Lake Camp! It will be a great weekend of prayer, worship, fun, and friendship for our group! Adult Volunteers Needed!!! I will need two female and two male adult volunteers to chaperone for the weekend and drive! Please be in prayerful consideration if you’d like to serve with our wonderful youth this weekend.
Youth Hobby Sale Fundraiser - January 11: The youth are planning a fundraiser to raise money to cover registration fees for Winter Camp 2026 ($175 per camper). They will be creating and selling crafts, art, jewelry, baked goods, and host a silent auction after Sunday worship. Bring your cash to support our youth! Youth, start creating and let Kelsi know what you plan on selling and whether it will be for regular sale or the silent auction! If you plan on going to Winter Camp, you MUST participate in the fundraiser!
Ongoing Activities
Christmas Break: All regular activities, including Stop, Drop, & Pray, Wednesday Morning Bible Study, and Revive Community Night are on break until the first week of January. Wednesday activities resume on January 7, 2026. Stop, Drop, and Pray resumes on New Years Day, January 1, 2026.
Community Caring Center Needs: Canned tuna and canned chicken are needed in addition to our regular list of mac ‘n cheese, instant mashed potatoes, canned soups, and peanut butter. Every first Sunday of the month is “Plastic Bag Day.” Thank you for your continued generosity and support!
Seed the Capital Campaign: In order for Revive to purchase property or a building, we’ll need to have a capital campaign. In advance of that future effort, you are invited to prayerfully consider today what will fuel our future as the people called United Methodists here in this place. Your second-mile giving can help “seed” our building fund. Check out the big thermometer each week and place any offerings in the bowl beneath it. Our Building Seed has grown to $31,614.00 (11/30/25). See Dana Hollingsworth for more info.
Stop, Drop, and Pray - Thursdays at 10 am: Pray with us on New Years Day! Every week, Revive takes a few minutes to stop, drop, and pray! This is a 10 minute or less zoom call where a single leader leads us in a time of prayer over our community, our church and our world. Just drop in when you can so that we can be in consistent prayer for guidance and blessing from the Holy Spirit.
