Prayers for Revive's Single Board and Visioning Team: This group of leaders is meeting this evening and all day tomorrow (October 10-11) to chart a path forward for Revive UMC. Please pray for our work to be fruitful and inspired.
Mark Your Calendar - Charge Conference Oct 26 at 3 pm: Revive will be hosting our District Superintendent for our annual Charge Conference at Lyle Lodge on October 26, 2025 at 3 pm. Charge Conference is the time we vote on a new roster of leaders, celebrate what God has done in 2025, and share goals for 2026. All are invited to come and celebrate the work of our church together.
Reaching Our Neighbors Masterclass: The Horizon Texas Conference is offering training on how to be proactive in welcoming our neighbors. A group attended training on Oct 5 in Decatur. There are also opportunities in Hurst on Oct 16 and online on Oct 30. If you’re interesting in being trained and helping us to reach as many as we can with hospitality and inclusion, contact Nancy Ashmore (nancyashmore1234@yahoo.com) or Christine Mochel (calm0219@aol.com), or sign up at https://htcumc.jotform.com/kofiwilliams/reaching-our-neighbors-.
Review Our Church! Our new Google Business Listing is live. You can help invite others to our church by writing a five-star review and telling what you love about Revive. This will help people to know who we are and add some energy to our online presence. It’s another way to get the word out about our wonderful church. Just google “Revive UMC Azle” or find it at this link: https://share.google/Z94c7fiHzVv9VBJ4b.
Support Azle Christian Church’s Rummage Sale: Our sister church, Azle Christian, is doing a campaign to raise $70,000 asap. They will have a Rummage Sale on Saturday, October 18 from 9 am - 3 pm. You can volunteer or contribute items to be sold. Drop off for items is Sunday Oct 12 after noon at Azle Christian. Sign up to volunteer on Wednesday Bible Studies or by emailing katiemeek@reviveumcazle.org. This church has been an incredibly generous partner to Revive. Let’s rally around them to support!
Calling All Photographers! As our online presence increases, we are in need of high quality photos of our church in action. We’re asking anyone with photography talent - professional and hobbyist - to take high res photos of worship services (preaching, singing, worship space, activities and worshipers), Bible studies, and mission/community activities. Then share them to Pastor Katie (katiemeek@reviveumcazle.org) via shared folders or thumb drive for public use. If you already have quality photos of Revive, please share them with Katie as well.
Cross Timbers Supplies: With the school year underway, the teachers have asked for paper towels for their classrooms. If you plan on shopping at either Costco or Sam's and have room in your cart for a package of paper towels, the teachers would appreciate it! Thank you.
Ongoing Activities
Bible Studies: Join us at Azle Christian Church for Wednesday Bible Studies and Children/Youth Activities. Morning Adults meet at 10:00 a.m. and discuss the scripture for the upcoming Sunday morning sermon. On Wednesday evenings, a light dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. with studies at 6:00 p.m. The Adults continue on their study of Genesis. Kelsi has activities planned for Children/Youth.
Crafting Ministries meets every third Tuesday at Jill DeMoss’s house (2033 Spinnaker Ln, Azle).
Community Caring Center Needs: Mac ‘n cheese, canned tuna, canned sups, instant mashed potatoes, rice, beans, cereal, and ramen are needed. Every first Sunday of the month is “Plastic Bag Day.” Thank you for your continued generosity and support!
Seed the Capital Campaign: In order for Revive to purchase property or a building, we’ll need to have a capital campaign. In advance of that future effort, you are invited to prayerfully consider today what will fuel our future as the people called United Methodists here in this place. Your second-mile giving can help “seed” our building fund. Check out the big thermometer eachweek and place any offerings in the bowl beneath it. Our Building Seed has grown to $31,264.00 (09/28/25). See Dana Hollingsworth for more info.
Learn Our Songs at Home: Now you can take worship home by listening to “Revive UMC Azle 2025” playlists on Spotify and Amazon. The aim of this playlist is to help us learn the contemporary songs that we sing in worship. To get the playlist, just search for “Revive UMC Azle 2025” on Spotify or Amazon.
